What is Verdant Alchemy?

Verdant Alchemy makes functional aromatherapy products for nervous-system recovery. Every product is handmade in small batches in South London and built around scent as the active ingredient — precise blends of essential oils designed to shift you from a stress state into a rest state. The range includes magnesium bath salts, bath oils, and aromatherapy roll-ons.

What makes Verdant Alchemy different?

Verdant Alchemy is built on the idea that scent is the fastest way to change how you feel. Most bath brands lead with minerals or ingredients; we lead with aromatherapy. Our magnesium bath salts pair magnesium-rich minerals with functional scent blends, and our oils and roll-ons extend the same scent-first approach beyond the bath — into your body, your desk, your car, anywhere you need rest. Everything is 100% natural origin, handmade, and tested by founder Vivien before it leaves the studio.

What's the difference between bath salts and bath oils?

Bath salts are mineral-based and designed to soften muscles, hydrate skin, and release scent into steam. Bath oils are oil-based and deliver a more concentrated aromatic experience while also nourishing the skin. Both formats use the same scent blends — so if you love a scent in salt form, you can explore it in oil form too. The salt works through mineral recovery; the oil works through pure scent concentration.

What's the difference between bath products and roll-ons?

Bath products (salts and oils) are rituals — you set aside time in the bath or shower. Roll-ons are aromatherapy on the go — a few seconds of scent when you need it at your desk, in your car, or anywhere else. Roll-ons use the same quality essential oils as bath products but in a portable format, so you can access that nervous-system shift without needing a bathtub.

Does this actually work?

Verdant Alchemy is built on functional aromatherapy, not just a pleasant scent. The essential oils in every blend are chosen for their documented effects on the nervous system — lavender for sleep, eucalyptus for clarity, vetiver for grounding. The magnesium in bath salts is also functional, supporting muscle recovery and promoting relaxation. Whether you experience the full effect depends on your individual chemistry, but the formulas are designed to work, not just to smell nice.

Are these vegan and cruelty-free?

Yes. All Verdant Alchemy products are 100% vegan and cruelty-free. We do not test on animals, and we only test on friends and family.

Are these products natural?

Yes. All products are 100% natural origin. We use natural essential oils, natural carrier oils, and natural mineral salts. We do not use synthetic fragrance, parabens, sulphates, or artificial preservatives.

PRODUCT USE

How do I use the bath salts?

Add a generous handful (approximately 50g) to a warm bath. The salts will dissolve into the water and release their scent into the steam. Soak for 15–20 minutes. For added benefit, combine with a matching bath oil for a more concentrated aromatic experience.

How do I use the bath oils?

Add 5–10 drops to a warm bath. The oil will emulsify slightly and distribute throughout the water. Alternatively, apply a few drops directly to damp skin after showering. The oil will absorb into the skin while releasing its scent.

How do I use the roll-ons?

Roll across the inside of your wrist, behind your ears, or along the inside of your arm. The scent will release through inhalation and skin contact. Reapply as needed throughout the day — typically 2–3 times per day, or as often as you want the scent reset.

How often should I use these products?

There is no maximum frequency. Many customers use bath salts 2–3 times per week, and roll-ons multiple times per day. Use as often as you need the ritual or the scent reset — that's the point.

Can I combine products?

Yes. Many customers combine bath salts with a matching bath oil for a deeper aromatherapy experience. You can also layer a roll-on scent over a bath ritual for an extended effect throughout the day.

Do you offer international shipping?

We currently ship to the UK only. Shipping costs and timelines vary by location. At checkout, you'll see the available shipping options and costs for your address. Most UK orders arrive within 4–7 working days.

What are your shipping timelines?

UK orders typically arrive within 4–7 working days. International shipping varies by destination. All orders are dispatched within 3 working days of purchase, and you'll receive a tracking link via email.

Do you offer free shipping?

Free shipping is available on UK orders over £30. 

What's your returns policy?

We offer a 30-day returns policy. If you're not satisfied, you can return items in original, unused condition for a full refund or exchange. Visit our Returns Policy page or contact us for instructions.

Do you offer discounts or sales?

We do not run regular discount sales, as doing so would undermine the premium positioning of the brand. However, do offer 15% off your first order if you sign up to our mailing list. We also occasionally offer early access to new product launches or exclusive offers to our email subscribers. Subscribe to our newsletter to stay informed.

Do you have a loyalty program?

We don't currently run a traditional loyalty program, but email subscribers receive exclusive early access to new products and occasional special offers unavailable to the general public.

Who founded Verdant Alchemy?
