Our bodies are wonderful things. They give us the availability to do all we desire in this world. At Verdant Alchemy, we believe in the mind and body being deeply interconnected. We often neglect our bodies in order to tackle other tasks in our lives, which can lead to burnout and feelings of weakness. We must treat our bodies with care to make sure they can be used to their fullest potential.

We have six tips to help you reconnect with your body and give it the love it deserves.
-
Exercise Often
Physical exercise is not only good for your body, but for your mind. Physical exercise is proven to be a great stress reliever and helps improve your quality of life. When your body is healthy, your mind feels the same way. After exercising, try our
Yoga Om Recover Bath Salts. These bath salts help aid muscle recovery and relax the body after working out.

Eat Well
In order to perform to the best of its ability, you need to fuel your body with food that will energise and sustain you. One way to do this is to make sure you are eating a healthy breakfast to start your days right. Eating breakfast is very important when looking to rid your body of that morning's grogginess and improve one’s overall health. Look for foods that boost your energy by seeking out a breakfast rich in whole grains, fruits, and healthy fats. Oatmeal with berries and yoghurt is a great way to hit all three of these categories.
Oatmeal is high in B vitamins, complex carbs, and fibre, promoting healthy digestion. At the end of the day, it is important to eat a meal that will keep you full throughout the night but won’t impair your sleep. Try eating dinner around 2-3 hours before bed, and if you are still hungry grab a light snack that will keep you full without impacting your sleep.
-
Sleep More
In order to feel our best, our bodies need a good night’s sleep. Let’s help you return to a state of serenity after a long day. A hot bath can help quiet the mind of all the day's worries and allow you to decompress while reducing symptoms of anxiety and depression. A bath can also soothe muscles and joints while moisturising your skin. These
Deep Drift bath salts are the perfect fix if you are tired of sleepless nights. This mix of chamomile, lavender, and ylang-ylang essential oils will ease your mind and naturally relax you so you can achieve a night of deep soothing sleep.

Practice Self Care
It is important that you set aside time to care for your body. One way to do this is by practising gua sha. Gua sha can help relieve your body of health conditions like tension in the head or neck, as well as relieve any tightness in the shoulder and legs, and decrease swelling. Gua sha works by massaging the tool into your muscles in a repeated motion allowing drainage to occur. This massage can be completed easily by using light pressure and gentry stretching the skin down. Gua sha originated in China and we suggest buying your gua sha from an Asian-owned business, we have linked a couple below.
-
De-Stress
Stress can have an immense impact on our body's ability to function. Being stressed out can cause muscle tension, fatigue, headaches, and even upset stomachs. In order to de-stress we suggest you spend time, journaling, connecting with others, exercising, unwinding and getting off social media. Life can be crazy, and sometimes we all need to take a little trip to our happy place. Hop in the shower or sink into the tub and ignite your senses with the
Retreat Bath and Shower Oil. This oil is made from lavender, ylang-ylang, and ho-leaf essential oils all ready to calm your mind and rejuvenate your body after a long day. You can read more about how to destress in our blog on managing stress (link when it’s live).
